About IBPS RRB

IBPS RRB (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection – Regional Rural Bank) is a national-level banking exam conducted by the IBPS on a yearly basis. Candidates who aspire to join the Regional Rural Banks have to undergo tests conducted for Group A and Group B posts.

Every year, IBPS holds the IBPS RRB test to fill vacancies for Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II, & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose) at various Regional Rural Banks (Gramin Banks). Following are the posts which are made available under group A and group B.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s / Graduation degree in any domain from a recognised university.
  • Candidates must be fluent and proficient in the local language.
  • Must have a sound computer knowledge.
Officer Scale – I (Assistant Manager)
  • Bachelor’s / Graduation degree in any domain from a recognised university.
  • High preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Information Technology, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Law, Economics, Management or Accountancy.
  • Candidates must be proficient and fluent in the local language.
  • Must have a sound computer knowledge.

Language Proficiency

Candidates seeking for the position of Office Assistant in any RRB must be fluent in the native language of the State/UT in which the RRB is located in order to be considered for an interview.

Nationality

As per CDS eligibility 2022, the applicants must be able to fit into nationality criteria. The candidate applying must be- 

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
  • An Indian refugee who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam to settle in India permanently.

IBPS RRB Clerk Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for the selection to the position of Office Assistant is quite different to that of the exam pattern for the selection to the post of Officer Grade. For the selection of Office Assistant, the IBPS RRB exam is conducted in two phases:

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Mains Exam

IBPS RRB Officer Exam Pattern

For IBPS RRB Officer the exam will be conducted in three stages:

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Mains Exam
  • Interview Process

The final selection of the candidate will be based on the aggregate score obtained by him/her in all three phases. The exam pattern for Officer prelim and main exam is the same as the exam pattern for Assistant.
